For your viewing pleasure, here’s the latest rendering of the design for playfield improvements! (I think those are cats playing soccer.)
It’s pretty exciting to see the varied spaces students will be able to enjoy, with options for active, nature-based, and imaginative play in all weather.
With a solid base of funding from the City of Seattle’s Neighborhood Matching Fund (see previous post here) to build the bones of the design, we’ll need more dollars to complete the work and add the trees, boulders, logs, and ‘gator sculpture (in the upper left hand corner). A fundraising campaign starts this week and lasts through November 17. From our dedicated playfield leadership committee:
SUPPORT THE GATEWOOD PLAYFIELD PROJECT!
Hundreds of Gatewood Elementary and Cottage School students use the playfield every school day. Your gift to the playfield project will benefit thousands of kids for years to come. Donate now to help us break ground by spring!
Give online today HERE. And learn more about the project HERE.
Or donate by check or cash. Checks should be made payable to Gatewood Elementary PTA. The whole school earns prizes for every $5,000 raised!
Can you help us spread the word to friends, family and neighbors?
Gatewood Elementary PTA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
